Killer Crinolines Consignment Shop Mystery

Killer Crinolines Consignment Shop Mystery

Killer in Crinolines starts with Duffy Brown thanking her Street Team. I have to admit I am a team member. When I agreed to tell people about Duffy's books, I knew the titles and not a whole lot more. I have had the pleasure of reading two wonderful mysteries since then. I highly recommend her consignment shop mysteries to any mystery lover.

The characters are well developed. You will love Reagan and hate her ex-husband Hollis. How can you not fall in love with a dog named Bruce Willis who loves hot dogs. There is Aunt KiKi who quotes Cher and is married to heart surgeon called Putter because he carries one. Then there is Walter Boone - who is eye candy for the Belly Dancers Reagan teaches. From a groom found face down in a wedding cake to the last period in the book we are in Savannah, Georgia. I wish I could taste the donuts that Reagan loves or could drink any drink that tastes like Snickers.

Reagan is loyal to her friends. She knows from the beginning that Chantilly could not be a murderer. She has to find the real killer to free her friend without getting killed in the process. I am looking forward to Reagan's adventures in the next book.

I read the first in this series, and was hooked! Duffy's writing skills are as smooth as honey, her words just flow. Hard to put the books down as you want to know what's coming next. The characters are wonderful, very real and so colorful! The humor found in these books is something great to look forward to! It's such a natural humor right from the heart, many LOL moments to be found here. A book either hooks you, or it doesn't-Duffy's books will HOOK you from the first page.
I look forward to many more books in this well written and solid series! A HIT!

Oh Duffy Brown I am so super upset with you, even if you did send me the book to review! I reviewed Duffy's other book Iced Chiffon which I loved! Now Killer in Crinolines is the second book the Consignment Shop Mysteries series. First let me lay out the plot for you then I will tell you why I am so upset!

I am so in love with this series! Duffy Brown again does a wonderful job with all of the characters. I am upset about the last page. I stayed up til 2am to finish this because I was so engrossed and when I finished the last line my thoughts were "Come On!" I have been waiting for two books for something particular to happen, all the tension is there, and then to deprive me at the last moment is just wrong.

Reagan is tough and headstrong which I really love while Aunt Kiki is the much-needed comic relief of the duo. However Walker Boone is hotshot attorney who just makes the page sizzle and always seems to be there just when Reagan needs him the most even if he does get on her nerves. I love the groom dying int he wedding cake, it was perfect! So was meeting more of the people of Savannah because as a Southern girl myself I know just how crazy Southern women can be. I can't wait for book three!
